Gill Tyler For as long as I can remember drawing and painting is always something that I have always done to amuse myself and entertain family and friends.

I discovered early on that making pictures makes people happy and that I enjoyed being part of that process.

I now work from a studio in Penistone as a freelance illustrator in advertising, design & publishing.

I love my work in the field of children’s book illustration and have been privileged to work for some of the best authors and publishers in the world. My books are sold internationally and have been translated into many languages.

I exhibit both locally and internationally and am a regular contributor to

‘The Illustration Cupboard,’ Gallery in London which specialises in the work of children’s book illustrators.

I find enormous inspiration for my work from the people and the surrounding landscape. I am also passionate about the creative life of the community and have been involved in many community projects from illustrating, ‘The Guide to Penistone and District,’ as well as designing the Archway for St Johns Church yard. I am also proud to be one of the founder members of Hens Teeth and chair since its inception.

I am presently working on my latest Children’s book; ‘Derry Fair’ to be published by Walker books later in the year.
